Unfortunately yours truly is taking a break from producing content for this blog for at least two weeks. You may well ask why and I will tell you after chasing down leads I managed to secure three (count them three) women who voiced interest in being interviewed for the blog. I explained to them what this would entail and then took some time and came up with individual interview questions for each took time out of my day to arrange online meetings with some of them only for the emails containing the interviews to be ignored and my attempts to follow up also ignored.

To be honest as of right now I have had enough trying to deal with people who lack the common courtesy to respond to something after saying they would, I can't stand people who break confidences and think that their word is unimportant. This is a free site with no ads so I'm not in the position to offer money only publicity so I do rely on someone's word instead of a legal team to sue when someone breaks a contract. I do not know how long this break will be but I promise if I decide to make it permanent of it goes on more than a month I will post an update explaining what I will do next.

Thanks to the fans who keep checking out our posts we appreciate it greatly.

Just sharing a picture of Debbie Kaye from Debbie Kaye Fitness as an example of someone who was wonderful to work with and who kept in touch with the team if only every interview went as smoothly as hers.

INTERVIEWS: How We Contact You

Lately I have been trying a new channel to book interviews for our lovely readers talking to lots of fit women who I hope can give some of their time to talk to you. Up to this point I have been using my personal IG account but that did not feel very professional so I have made an Official Account to match the Official Twitter account we already have. That way anyone contacted through Instagram OR Twitter can come here and know that we are legit.

So that's all I really have to say. I'd definitely welcome fans following us on Instagram which will definitely help raise our profile and mean that more athletes are likely to be interested in getting on contact with us.

TWITTER: @girlyabs
INSTAGRAM: @sexygirlyabs

So I think at the moment those are all of our official links the only other link you might want to know about is the IG of the editor which is IG: shafts_word

That's all for now we should have a new post in a few days but I thought getting this out there was important. Now I need to go and properly edit the Instagram account.

INTERVIEW With FitGirl.Sara

Can you introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Sara Gansert, I am 20 years old, I study business administration and live in Germany in a little village nearby Cologne.

Have you always been dedicated to fitness or was it a more recent change?

I always loved being active, doing sports, I started dancing when I was three years old and during my childhood I tried out almost every kind of sports you can imagine. But in the end I always knew that there is nothing that gets me more than dancing. So to be honest fitness was never really important to me, but one year ago I discovered my passion for fitness. Of course I went to the gym before, but without any special goals and doing the typical "girls stuff" I was pretty bored.

Then last year, when I came back from my travels in Australia, where I gained lots of weight, I really wanted it chance something, I had a goal and some pounds too much which gave me a good basis to build muscle pretty fast. Since I do weightlifting and see the success the gym isn't even a little bit boring anymore, it has become my second home.

Can you tell us about your workout routine?

I workout about six times a week, I tried to rest on Sundays but sometimes it's kinda hard and I really have to remind myself that my body needs time to recover. I train the different groups of muscles on separate days.

Who do you take inspiration from? Can you name three celebrities whose physiques you respect?

Of course there are lots of famous women which look great and are really inspirational, but to be honest, I don't really take my motivation and inspiration from famous people, I love following the changes and progresses of normal people, just like me, I am always happy if I find someone I am not already following who shares his or hers successes and struggles and I love to observe how people become happy and confident and fit.

Do you do any sports?

I love lifting and working out, but in the first place I am a dancer, I dance in a great team and we are booked about 50 times a year as an act on big events, so it's pretty time-consuming, but I absolutely love it.

Do you feel that there is beginning to be a change in the media’s image of the female body and is that change for the better?

I am assured that there's a change in the medias image of the female body, there is a big trend towards fitness and fit women are also becoming more and more attractive. In my opinion it's a good kind of change because living healthy and fit is so much better as a role model that being as thin and skinny as possible.

What do you think of as your biggest accomplishment in fitness?

I was always struggling with my knees, sometimes they hurt so bad that I couldn't even move and I was really afraid that I could never train as hard again as I did before. But I never gave up, and though the doctors still are skeptical, I am confident, I am back in training and I won't give up!

What music do you like?

I like almost every kind of music. Most of the time I listen to the radio. But to motivate myself during my workout, I love listening to Linkin Park or Eminem.

Tell us about your online presence.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to write a blog, but you can follow me on Instagram, fitgirl.sara to follow my fitness journey, to see my changes and how I motivate myself.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell the fans

The most important thing is to never give up and to always believe in yourself, no matter where you are now, it's your turn to get where you want to be and no matter how long it takes if you focus your goals you'll be able to reach anything you're dreaming of.

5 Athletic Actresses

To a greater or lesser degree lots of actresses are fit much like male actors when they are required to for the role. We can talk about the inherent sexism of women to be at peak fitness for roles while men can gain weight for character roles. These are some of the most athletic actresses around who are not afraid of showing a little muscle and moving away from the former ideal of just skinny. At least that's how I think of it.

Gina Carano

Caity Lotz

Ronda Rousey

Kaley Cuoco

Michelle Rodriguez

INSTA-FITNESS - Female Athletes From Around The Net

Did you know that Instagram was a great place to see up and coming fitness models? I didn't know for quite sometime but now that I have embraced it and have an account it has lead me to a lot of new leads in my ongoing search to find images for you my readers. Hopefully this will also lead to a new interview BUT I can't promise anything. Anyway let's go on to the pictures.
